Faiqa Al-Sayed

Politician Faiqa Al-Sayed is a Yemeni politician born in Aden in 1953. Her family comes from Hadhramaut Governorate from Al-Bawawi family. She holds a BA in Political Science and Media, Journalism Department from the University of Algeria. She is one of the pioneers of political work in Yemen.

She has been known for her political activity since the early days of her political life and has held many positions, including: Member of the Central Committee of the Yemeni Socialist Youth Union (Asheed), Member of the National Committee for Women in the World 1975, Member of the General Committee of the General People's Congress, and she also held the position of Assistant Secretary-General of the General People's Congress and served as an advisor to President Hadi on women's affairs.

She was nicknamed "The Iron Lady" in recognition of her political contributions and courageous stances on various national issues, as well as her representation of Yemeni women in many international conferences.
