Bushra Al-Maqtari
Journalist and writer Bushra Al-Maqtari, born in Taiz Governorate, is a central committee member of the Yemeni Socialist Party, known for her opposition to oppression, tyranny, and backwardness.
She has won numerous Arab and international awards, including the German “Palm” Prize for Freedom of Speech and Journalism, the Françoise Giroud Prize for defending rights and freedoms from Paris, the Leaders for Democracy Award from Washington, and the Arab Universities Creativity Award at the Suez University Forum.
She has authored several books and novels, most notably "What Did You Leave Behind?" which was translated into German, and the novel "Behind the Sun," in addition to her writings in various Arab and international newspapers such as Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, The New York Times, and The Gulf House for Studies and Publishing.
